THE DEQ AIR PERMIT SECTION REPORTS THE FOLLOWING FOR MICHIGAN COMPANIES.
Carbon Green BioEnergy in Woodbury has been issued a permit to increase the plant capacity to 59.9 million gallons per year. Michigan Ethanol in Caro has been issued a permit to increase their production capacity to 65 million gallons per year, and the denaturant throughput to 5 million gallons per year, to facilitate the load-out of E85. Frontier Renewable Fuels to be located in Kinross has applied for an air permit for a 40 million gallon per year cellulosic ethanol plant. With these and other permit changes, the following plants have been permitted for the indicated capacity; Carbon Green BioEnergy, Woodbury - 59.9 million gallons per year; Global Ethanol, Riga - 63 million gallons per year; Marysville Ethanol, Marysville - 60 million gallons; Poet Biorefining, Caro - 65 million gallons per year; The Andersons Albion Ethanol, Albion - 68.75 million gallons per year. Permitted plants not constructed and permitted production rate are as follows along with the permit status: Liberty Renewable Fuels, Ithaca - 143 million gallons (this plant started construction, but construction is currently stopped. The permit expires 18 months after construction stopped, unless an extension is granted or construction continues). NextGen Energy, McBain - 58 million gallons per year (the permit expires 3-5-2010 unless an extension is granted or construction has begun by that date); NextGen Energy, Watervliet - 58 million gallons per year (the permit expires 2-22-2010 unless an extension is granted or construction has begun by that date).
